Where: Hickory Nut Gap Farm in Fairview, NC
Join friends, in celebration of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy’s 50th year conserving land and water in the Appalachian Mountains, for Appalachia Day at Hickory Nut Gap Farm in Fairview, NC on Saturday, October 12th. Come out and celebrate what you love about our mountain home. There will be food trucks on site, live music, a craft village market, a raffle and more farm fun for the whole family!
Appalachia Day invites attendees to immerse themselves in the essence of Appalachia with an array of engaging activities. You can take the kids on a hayride or pony ride (operating hours are from 11:00 – 4:00). While enjoying the festivities, you can savor delectable offerings from food trucks on-site and cold beers provided by Wicked Weed Brewing and Highland Brewing Company.
Proceeds from beer sales and a raffle held during the event will support the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy.

Next Generation: Ceramic Artists of Western NC
The “Next Generation: Ceramic Artists of Western North Carolina” exhibition will run from October 25 to November 12. Hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 am – 4 pm and Tuesday, Thursday, 9 am – 11:30 am and 2 pm – 4 pm, closed weekends. The gallery is located in the Moore Fine Art building and admission is always free.
